Hi, I'm Matt

I write code for a living and I genuinely enjoy it. Most of my career has been spent building reliability into products and businesses, working up and down the stack. This blog is my forever project — it's been through more iterations than I care to count, from Drupal to Django to Vue to this Next.js version you're staring at.

I'm a bit of a pragmatist when it comes to technology choices. I like tools that work well together and don't fight you when you're trying to get things done.

Living in the Pacific Northwest is pretty great if you're into the outdoors. I spend a lot of time hiking, exploring forests, and generally trying to get away from screens when I can. The region has this perfect mix of mountains, coast, and everything in between.
